This is your source for understanding Elon Musk's DOGE through the lens of logical thought.

HIGHLIGHTS OF DOGE: Week 21

Last night I was out with a friend in Austin and we were both enjoying a Negroni, when she told me in the most melancholy tone that she’s given up hope now on ever seeing the US government become efficient. “Elon is gone now, he is out of DC and I wish he’d impeach Trump over this”.

I’m here to bring you optimism, and to keep reporting on the DOGE way of life in DC. But I did tell her I thought that Elon will give his max attention to the things he can work on to save humanity. Here’s my weekly DOGE DIARIES update which I’ve been publishing since January.

Lean Cuts to Wasteful Spending

  • Agencies terminated 111 contracts, $790 million total.
  • Saved $263 million.
  • Cut $21,000 Department of Energy executive coaching.
  • Halted $480,000 United States Agency for Global Media radio operations in Zambia.

Saving Big on Government Spending

  • Government cut non-defense spending by 22.4% (about $25 billion) since last year, as of June 8, 2025.
  • Slashed another 2.5% since last month.
  • Less money will be spent as bills come due.
  • Department of Government Efficiency plan keeps saving taxpayer dollars.

Upgrading Weather Radio

  • National Weather Service works with Department of Government Efficiency to update Weather Radio system.
  • Of 1,033 transmitter sites, ~380 use old 1960s copper lines.
  • Copper lines cost $17 million yearly and often fail (e.g., Los Angeles’ line down twice yearly for 2-14 days).
  • Team upgraded Los Angeles to wireless last week.

Simple Savings to Rest Easy

  • Internal Revenue Service saved $12.3 million a year: ditched 11,000 unused computer programs (from 44,000 to 33,000) and 1,565 old planning tools (from 3,465 to 1,900)—I’m too tired for this mess!
  • Securities and Exchange Commission saved $3.4 million a year: dropped 1,300 office software licenses (from 6,000 to 4,700) and cut over 3,000 hours of extra work—finally some peace.
  • Department of Labor saved $1.8 million a year: trimmed 2,800 subscription extras (from 15,620 to 12,820) and 1,200 security licenses (from 3,200 to 2,000)—let’s call it a day!

The IRS, the Securities Exchange Commission, and Labor Department shine with DOGE! The IRS saved $12.3M cutting unused software. The SEC saved $3.4M reducing licenses and services. The Dept of Labor saved $1.8M trimming subscriptions.

The Trump Card and DOGE’s Role

  • The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), launched via executive order on January 20, 2025, supports Trump’s push to streamline government, including reposting the Trump Card initiative from @RapidResponse47 on June 18, 2025.
  • The Trump Card program, linked to trumpcard.gov, expands the EB-5 visa model, hiking the investment from $1.05 million to $5 million, as Trump proposed in February 2025.

Easy Wins on Spending Cuts

  • Agencies cut 90 old contracts in 3 days, worth $1.5 billion, saving us $200 million—finally some relief!
  • Scrapped a $911,000 National Aeronautics and Space Administration diversity and equity deal about climate stuff—too much fuss.
  • Dropped a $4.6 million Department of Health and Human Services equity project with fancy tools—good riddance, I’m worn out.

Good News for All Americans

DOGE DIARIES: Like you, I am fed up with all this diversity, equity, and inclusion nonsense and the endless government red tape. But here’s some relief as of June 18, 2025:

  • Agencies just cut 90 wasteful contracts worth $1.5 billion, saving $200 million. Goodbye to a $911,000 space agency DEI climate project—pure fluff—and a $4.6 million health department equity scheme.
  • Taxpayers saved $12.3 million yearly by tossing 11,000 unused computer programs and 1,565 old planning tools—less clutter, finally.
  • The SEC saved $3.4 million yearly, dropping 1,300 office software licenses and 3,000+ hours of extra work—hallelujah for that!
  • The Labor department trimmed $1.8 million yearly, cutting 2,800 subscription extras and 1,200 security licenses—enough of the bureaucracy already!

The Department of Government Efficiency is stepping up even with Elon placing more efforts into Tesla and SpaceX, and I’m grateful. Let’s hope they keep clearing out this mess so we can rest easy. Be sure to share this link with your friends on other platforms.

What is DOGE?

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, has achieved remarkable results by saving $160 billion through canceling inefficient contracts and selling assets, thereby optimizing taxpayer funds. It introduced innovative tech perspectives to drive government reform. DOGE promoted transparency via public access to unclassified records, while slashing bureaucracy for streamlined operations. Ultimately, it delivered voter-mandated reforms that boosted overall efficiency.
